Abstract
The medicinal plant Momordica charantia L is known for its healing properties from ancient times, originally from India, this plant was grown in the climatic conditions of Asian countries, including Uzbekistan. It is used in folk medicine for the treatment of diabetes, and fruits are used as a vegetable. Phytochemicals such as proteins, polysaccharides, flavanoids, triterpenes, saponins, ascorbic acid and steroids were found in the plant. The literature provides data on its various biological activity, including antihyperglycemic, antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic. As a result of the research, the chemical composition of the fruits of the plant was studied, as well as information about the use of the plant in folk medicine.
