Abstract
Chronic heart failure is the main cause of hospitalization in elderly patients. With acute decompensation of heart failure, more than half of hospitalized patients are aged 75 years, while about 20% are elderly i.e. patients older than 85 years. Patients with heart failure in different states have different average ages. This is probably due to lifestyle in different states, nutrition culture, life expectancy, health system as well as social and economic factors.
